A protest was held in Maitighar Mandala in the Capital on Thursday, demanding proper compensation to those affected by the road expansion project.
The affected families from different parts of the Kathmandu Valley including Kalimati, Kalanki, Tripureshwor, Bhaktapur, Godawari, Dhapakhel and Dakshinkali who have formed struggle committees gathered in the Maitighar Mandala in a bid to press the government for proper compensation.
They said the government encroached on their ancient settlement and was using its power to drive them out from their properties. They complained that said their houses were being demolished in the name of road expansion without prior information. RSS
