“Our party will fully support the government in holding the polls,” said Bhanu Bhakta Dhakal, chief whip of the second largest party, asking the government to make preparations seriously. He added that the nine opposition parties standing against the constitution amendment bill would hold a discussion for allowing parliamentary process on constitution amendment.
As the Rastriya Prajatantra Party also has announced not to support the amendment bill in its present form, Dhakal said the opposition bloc was confident that the amendment bill would be defeated. Former Speaker and UML leader Subas Chandra Nembang said the move, though belated, was positive. He appealed to all the forces to be cautious and vigilant and to join hands to make the polls a success.
