An executive committee meeting of the National Reconstruction Authority (NRA) on Tuesday decided to form the committee chaired by Hari Ram Parajuli, executive member of the NRA, with representatives from the Department of Archaeology, two archeologists, a joint-secretary from NRA and a secretary from the Ministry of Urban Development as members.
The committee formed on Tuesday will be responsible for monitoring and reinforcement and reconstruction of the western part of Singha Durbar that was partially damaged by the Gorkha earthquake in April 2015, said Yam Lal Bhusal, spokesperson for the NRA.
The committee is set to start its work soon.
The main part of the west face of Singha Durbar will not be damaged while reconstructing the damaged portion.
Similarly, to provide suggestions and feedbacks to the newly formed committee, an advisory committee also has been formed.
The advisory committee, chaired by Govind Raj Pokharel, chief executive officer of the NRA, will have senior archeologists.
