The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police on Thursday arrested Shree Narayan Yadav and Raj Kumar Dhakal, officials at the Tribhuvan International Airport customs, for inquiry into the smuggling of 33 kg gold last week. DIG Nawaraj Silwal, chief of the CIB, confirmed the arrests but refused to give details. The CIB on January 5 had seized 33 kg of gold that had passed through the TIA customs undetected. A CIB team had also nabbed Gopal Bahadur Shahi, who had landed from the UAE in an Air Arabia flight, in possession of gold. (PR)
