On the request of the petitioner, a bench of Supreme Court Chief Justice Sushila Karki and Justice Jagdish Sharma Poudel concluded that an interim order was not necessary.
With this decision from the Apex Court, the suspension of NEA members—Laxman Prasad Agrawal, Manoj Kumar Mishra and Suraj Lamichhane— will remain intact.
The Energy Ministry had, on December 18, sacked the NEA board members for their non-cooperation to NEA Managing Director Kulman Ghising's bid to end load shedding in the country.
Responding to a case filed by one of the sacked member Lamichhane at the apex court against the government's decision, a single bench of Justice Prakash Man Singh Raut had ordered the government not to implement the decision till a final verdict on the case.
