Police have arrested a person in possession of gold worth Rs 30 million from Kalanki in the Capital on Thursday.
A police team of Metopolitan Crime Investigation Department arrested the driver of a Hilux pickup van while entering Kathmandu with the gold through Dhading from Rasuwa.
According to a source, the gold could have been smuggled from Nepal-China border in Kerung of Rasuwa district.
Investigation is underway to determine the owner or the buyer of the gold.
Police have suspected the driver to be hauler for the gold owner.
