The Nepal government has deplored the nuclear test carried out by the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea on Friday, in defiance of the relevant resolutions of the United Nations Security Council and the calls of the international community.
“In line with its consistent policy of general and complete disarmament of all weapons of mass destruction, Nepal stands against such tests,” the Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Monday.
“We call upon the Government of the DPRK to refrain from such acts. Nepal wishes to see peace and stability on the Korean peninsula.”
The South Korean military has said the North is ready for another nuclear test.
