Two bronze idols of Goddess Brahayawani were stolen from Taulachey in Bhaktapur Municipality-1 on Tuesday night.
On December 20, a 17th century idol of Digu Bhairav, weighting around 6 kg was stolen from Thimi.
Police in the district say they have been investigating the case. Police were informed about the theft at around 7am on Wednesday. Gopal Krishna Koju, a priest, said the five locks put on three gates were found broken.
Historians and cultural exports say cases of thefts of ancients statues have been
on rise since the earthquake last year.
