Pokhara Avengers posted a competitive 155 runs against Janakpur Bolts in Thursday’s second Nepal Premier League match after a strong start was briefly derailed by a middle-order collapse at the TU Cricket International Ground in Kirtipur.
Having opted to bat first, Pokhara added 61 runs for the opening wicket through Adam Rossington and Dinesh Kharel before Janakpur spinner Sanjay Krishnamurthi struck twice in successive deliveries to shift momentum. Rossington made 24 off 17 balls, while Kharel contributed 38 from 38.
The innings regained stability late on, with Sumit Verma and Tritraj Das putting on a vital 72-run partnership for the fifth wicket. Verma remained unbeaten on 50 off 29 balls, striking two fours and four sixes, while Das added 28.
Pokhara finished strongly, smashing 60 runs in the final five overs to lift their total to 155 for six. Krishnamurthi was the pick of Janakpur’s bowlers, taking three wickets for just 21 runs.
