Prime Minister Oli hands over cash prize to women’s volleyball team

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on Thursday handed over the cash prize to the women’s volleyball team players who participated in the CAVA Women’s Volleyball Nations League-2024.
Captain Aruna Shahi and 14 other players received Rs300,000 each at a function held at the prime minister’s residence in Baluwatar. Head coach Jagdish Prasad Bhatta received Rs200,000, while Assistant Coach Bharat Yadav, Manager Nilam Singh Bajracharya and Physio Lokendra Kunwar were honoured with Rs120,000 each.
Nepal finished as runner-up in the tournament held on August 1-7 in Kathmandu.
On August 15, a Cabinet meeting had decided to provide a total of Rs4.76 million to the players and officials.
Prime Minister Oli expressed his happiness over the women’s volleyball players’ success so far and urged them to work hard to set a new record in the coming days, the prime minister’s secretariat said.
“I am confident that our players are encouraged to succeed and progress. The government will do its best to provide continuous training and motivation to the players and infrastructure,” said Prime Minister Oli.
