Pallak clinches two singles titles

Sambhavi Pallak struck two titles in the inter-school Kathmandu Badminton Championships on Friday.
The British School shuttler Pallak clinched the girls’ U-14 and U-12 singles titles. Pallak defeated Nima Yanzi Sherpa of Galaxy 21-10, 21-4 in the U-14 final while she beat another Galaxy opponent Shera J Sherpa in the U-12 title clash.
Sakshyam Dhakal of Valley view saw off Kakesh Satyal of Buddha International 21-13, 21-5 to claim the U-12 boys’ singles title. David Thapa Magar of the Caribbean won the U-14 boys singles championship defeating Abhiyan Kashyap of Kathmandu Meridian 221-13, 21-10.
The top three shutters in the U-14 events were rewarded with Rs 30,000, Rs 15,000 and Rs 10,000 each, while the best three in the U-12 categories earned Rs 20,000, Rs 15,000 and Rs 10,000 each.
The cash handover programme, however, will take place in due date, the organizers Kathmandu Badminton Association said. The organizers also feted coach Mahendra Lal Shrestha with Rs 10,000.
