Shah duo win doubles title in 16th Jayakar Memorial National Junior Tennis Championship

Isha Shree Shah and Rayana Shah clinched the girls’ doubles title while Chirag Timalsina and Rajbir Pradhan won the boys’ doubles honour of the 16th Jayakar Memorial National Junior Tennis Championship at the National Sports Council in Tripureshwar on Friday.
The Shah pair defeated Subhanghi Lamxi Shah and Aja Regmi 7-6 (6), 6-4 in the girls’ doubles final. In the boys’ doubles title clash, Timalsina and Pradhan beat Aarav Samrat Hada and Pranav Manandhar 6-4, 3-6, 10-4. Ashab Hada overcame Samkhahang Rai 12-10, 10-7 to win the U-8 boys’ singles championship. Sibhali Gurung lifted the U-8 girls’ title with a 10-7, 10-7 win over Samragi Lama.
Pratistha Lama made it to the U-10 girls’ singles final with a comfortable 6-4, 6-3 win over Saivi Dhakal. Lama will play Samriddhi Maharjan in the final. The U-12 girls’ singles semi-finals saw Prasansa Mokta beat Utsha Lama 6-3, 6-9 to set title clash against Iva Adhikari. Adhikari registered a double bagel win over Adhya Paudel in the other last-four clash.
In the boy’s U-12 semi-finals, Pranab Manandhar eased past Ayushman Hajur Ghale 6-3, 6-1 and plays Saroj Tamang in the final. Tamang registered a double bagel win over Hridbhik Karki. Arav Samrat Hada and Aryan Giri will play the U-14 boy’s singles final after both won their semi-final matches. Hada dispatched Chirag Timalsina 6-1, 6-1 and Giri saw off Pritam Pariyar 7-5, 1-6, 10-7.
