Tribhuvan Army Club (TAC) defeated Province 3 3-0 to claim the Sahana Pradhan Memorial Nation Women’s Hockey Tournament on Friday.
The game was pushed to tiebreaker after the regulation time ended in a 1-1 deadlock. In the tiebreaker, Uma Gurung, Sita Chaudhary and Sitamaya Bal converted their shots for Army while Province 3 failed to convert a single goal.
In the third-place play-off, Province 4 beat Province 7 in sudden death shootout after a 2-2 stalemate in regulation time. Nilima Pandey of Province 3 was declared the best player while Sarita Meche of Army won the highest scorer award for her five goals. Kushma Rana Magar of TAC was declared the best goalkeeper and Kamala Pun of Province 4 the emerging player.
