Fupu Lhamu Khatri won the second gold for Nepal in the Judo category after registering wins against Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Pakistan and Indian competitors in the Round Robin round.
Earlier, Wushu player Nima Gharti Magar had won the first gold medal for Nepal.
Likewise, Lila Adhikari and Manita Shrestha Pradhan have secured silver medals in 52 kg and 57 kg category.
Adhikari had knocked out Sri Lankan and Pakistani player in the Round Robin round only to taste defeat at the hands of India’s Kalpana Devi Thoudam in the finals to settle for a silver.
Similarly, Pradhan won three out of four matches in the Round Robin league of the 57 kg weight category to win the silver. She lost the gold to India’s Anita Chanu Angom after defeating players from Sri Lanka, Pakistan and Bangladesh.
Meanwhile, Taekwondo players who brought gold medals home in the 11th SAG—Ayesha Shakya, Nima Gurung, Saksham Karki and Bir Bahadur Mahara have secured their place at the semi-finals. The semi-finals and finals will take place at Nigrim Indoor Stadium in Shillong later today.
