Spiker Chaudhary in limelight
Saraswoti Chaudhary’s quick spikes and blocks have been instrumental in Nepal Armed Police Force (APF) Club dominating the national volleyball tournaments for quite a while now.Newcomer to the game she might be but such has been the impact of her performance that she is hailed as the No 1 quick spiker in the country. Chaudhary, who hails from the far-west, outshines the field with her quick blocks and spikes.
Her presence in the team has inspired the APF Club to several national-level tournaments. The APF won the IGP Cup, Dhorpatan Cup Double League Women’s Volleyball, National Women’s Volleyball, SNV Club Championship and first Lumbini National Championship. Chaudhary was pivotal in all those triumphs.
Her efforts in the game havee been duly recognised and she is now inching closer towards achieving a personal milestone this year. She has been nominated as one of the five players in the Popular Player of the Year category of Pulsar Player of the Year (PoY) Award.
Sprinter Yam Sajan Sunar, cricketer Paras Khadka, footballer Bimal Gharti Magar and swimmer Sofia Shah are the other nominees in the category. The winner will decided through SMS voting and facebook likes. A nominee receiving the maximum votes is assured of riding home with a Pulsar motorcycle from the National Academy Hall on June 1.
