The body of 87-year-old Devilal Bhattarai, who went missing from his home in Rambha Rural Municipality-1, Palpa, has been discovered on the banks of the Kaligandaki River. The elderly man had been missing for eight days.

Police said that the body was located in a remote area along the riverbank in Chapakot Municipality-8, Syangja, approximately 15 kilometres downstream from his home. The body was found in a decomposed state.

Upon receiving the information, police rushed to the scene, recovered the body, and sent it to Chapakot Hospital for a postmortem examination.

The body was transferred to Rampur Hospital in Palpa as the postmortem could not be conducted there. After the postmortem, the body was handed over to the family for funeral rites.
