Rape convict on the run arrested after two years

Police on Sunday arrested a rape convict who had been on the run for the past two years.
Forty-year-old Ravi Gharti was arrested from Lamahi Municipality-9 and taken to the Dang District Court, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Janak Bahadur Malla.
He had been convicted on a rape charge by the same court on January 10, 2022, and was on the run since.
Gharti was handed a sentence of eight years and ordered to pay a fine of Rs100,000.
