Rural municipal staffers on pen-down strike

Staffers of Shuddhodhan Rural Municipality stopped work on Thursday to protest alleged physical and verbal assault on Krishna Prasad Gyawali, the chief administrative officer on Wednesday by deputy chairman of the rural municipality Homprakash Chaudhary Kurmi.
According to Kamalesh Saran Chaudhary, chairman of the rural municipality, Kurmi assaulted Gyawali in front of the other staff while he was at a meeting due to some personal issues.
A meeting of the municipal staffers on Thursday decided to stop the work until Kurmi is punished.
A written complaint has been sent to the chief district officer demanding action against Kurmi, said Chaudhary.
