Police detained a tax officer from Nepalgunj Airport in Banke district in possession of undeclared money on Monday.
According to the District Police Office, Khagendra Sapkota who has been working at the Inland Revenue Office in Tulsipur of Dang was held with Rs 2.6 million undeclared money during airport security check.
Sapkota was on his way to Kathmandu.
Sapkota was handed over to the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority in Nepalgunj for investigation, said police.
