As many as 1,904 people died in road accidents over the past three fiscal years in Lumbini Province.
Data from the provincial Ministry of Internal Affairs and Law show a total of 11,763 road accidents occurred in all 12 districts of Lumbini Province for the past three consecutive fiscal years.
Overspeeding, recklessness of the drivers, poor condition of roads, and overburdened vehicles were pointed out as the main causes behind the fatal crashes.
