Two people were killed in a knife attack in Kapilvastu on Thursday.
Seventy-year-old Bam Bahadur Tharu and his 18-year-old niece had sustained serious injuries after being attacked with a knife by Mohan Tharu, 22, at their residence at 9am on Thursday.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Min Bahadur Ghale, Bam Bahadur was rushed to a Jitpur-based community hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
Meanwhile, Bam Bahadur’s niece died while undergoing treatment at the Bhairahawa Medical College.
Both victims had sustained several cut wounds to their bodies.
The accused was arrested by the police from the incident site.
Further investigation into the incident is underway.
