CPN-UML’s Kumar Dasaudi has been elected as National Assembly member from Lumbini Province.
Dasaudi garnered 4,026 votes, securing victory over Madhav Acahrya of the Nepali Congress, in the re-election held on Wednesday, said Shalikram Sharma Poudel, spokesperson for the Election Commission.
Acharya garnered 3,720 votes while Rajendrabir Rawal of the Nagarik Unmukti Party got 192.
Lumbini Province Assembly members, and chairs and deputy chairs of rural municipalities and municipalities cast their votes in the poll.
Re-election for a National Assembly seat was held on Wednesday after UML’s Khimlal Bhattarai resigned as an upper house member to contest as member of the House of Representatives.
