Two young girls died due to electrocution in Hetauda on Saturday afternoon. The incident occurred near Chisapani, Hetauda-16, when an 11 kV pin insulator broke, causing electricity to flow through a nearby iron pole. The current then passed into water that had accumulated at the base of the pole, where the girls were walking, the police said.
The victims were a 9-year-old girl from Nijgadh-1, Bara, and a 7-year-old girl from Hetauda-16.
The police reported that the girls were electrocuted after stepping into the water while walking and lost consciousness immediately. Both were rushed to Hetauda Hospital, where they were pronounced dead during treatment.
