A motorcyclist died after being hit by a pickup truck in ward 1 of Sunkoshi Rural Municipality, Sindhuli, along the BP Highway on Friday.
The police identified the deceased as Ganesh Rai, 35, of Siraha. Rai, who was travelling from Siraha to Kathmandu on a motorcycle, was hit by the truck coming from the opposite direction.
Rai died while receiving treatment at Dhulikhel Hospital, and the pillion rider, 33-year-old Dhirendra Thakur, is undergoing treatment at the hospital.
Police Inspector Keshav Kumar Katawal said the truck has been impounded, and the driver detained.
