At least one person died and 13 others were injured in a road accident along the Prithvi Highway on Friday morning.

Thirty-five-year-old Samir Ojha, who was injured after the car he was driving collided with a passenger bus in ward 3 of Ichhakamana Rural Municipality of Chitwan district, died in the course of treatment at the Chitwan Medical College, Bharatpur.

The bus veered off the road and fell some 40-50 metres down the road on the banks of Trishuli river at around 7:25am, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police Shreeram Bhandari.

A total of 35 passengers were travelling in the bus while five people were onboard the car.

Of the injured, three are critically injured. Four others have returned home after treatment at the Bharatpur-based hospital.
