Police on Wednesday recovered two dead bodies wrapped in a sack in ward number 12 of the Bharatpur Metropolitan City.
The remains of a man and a woman were found in a jute sack under a bridge near Milan Chowk along the Mahendra Highway at around 1pm, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Bijayaraj Pandit.
Police suspect that the incident occurred four to five days ago. The identity of the victims are yet to be ascertained.
The bodies were found by the locals, who had gone to the river to fish, after complaining of a foul smell, police said.
Further investigation into the matter is underway, police said.
