Police have arrested a woman from Bhaktapur on charge of child sexual abuse.

The 21-year-old has been accused of sexually exploiting her own sister, a minor. As per the preliminary investigation by the police, the accused allegedly also recorded the sexual activities involving her sister and herself, and sent them to her male friend.

The police had been informed of an alleged case of child sexual abuse by the INTERPOL in May last year, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Kumar Prasad Mainali.

Thereafter, an investigation was launched into the matter by the Interpol department of the Nepal Police.

The accused was arrested on Saturday after the preliminary investigation revealed that she had been sexually exploiting her sister, Mainali added.

Further investigation into the matter is underway.
