Irate locals have obstructed the BP Highway in Kavre district on Thursday following the death of a girl in a road accident.
A girl died after she was knocked down by a bus in Namobuddha Municipality-7, Bhakunde of Kavre on Thursday afternoon.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Dhundi Raj Neupane of Kavre District Police Office said an eight-year-old girl from the locality died on the spot after she was hit by a bus heading to Kharpachok from Banepa at around 3:30pm.
Neupane said the locals set fire the bus on fire following the accident, which was later doused by a fire engine.
He said locals have obstructed the highway for the past two hours.
