12-year-old dies as jeep veers off the road in Ramechhap

A 12-year-old boy died in a jeep accident that occurred at Daduwa of Dorambha Rural Municipality in Ramechhap district on Monday. 10 others were injured in the accident.
According to Gokarna Shrestha, who was witness to the accident, the jeep fell some 200 metres down the road. The ill-fated jeep was carrying 15 passengers aboard and was heading towards Dahapatal in the rural municipality from Jhor in Dolakha district.
One local, Kumar Sherpa informed that the injured passengers rescued from the accident site are being sent to Dorambha health post for treatment.
District Police Office, Ramchhap Deputy Superintendent of Police Santosh Kumar Bhattarai informed that a team of police from the Doramba Police Station has been deployed to the accident site.
There were four jeeps that were reserved for the trip from Jhor and of them, the one in the front met with the accident.
The reason behind the accident is yet to be ascertained, said Bhattarai.
