Two people died in a motorcycle accident near Jhanj Bridge along the Gaur-Gangapipra road in ward 4 of Durgabhagawati Rural Municipality, Rautahat, on Sunday morning.
According to Bishnu Pradip Basyal, information officer at Rautahat District Police Office, they died while undergoing treatment after the motorbike went out of control.
The vehicle was travelling from Gangapipra to Gaur when it hit a sisau tree.
The deceased have been identified as rider Jitendra Sah and pillion rider Punam Devi Sah, 22, of ward 4, Yamunamai Rural Municipality, Saruatha. Both were taken to Gaur Provincial Hospital with severe injuries to their heads, faces, and other parts of the body.
