A cyclist lost his life on Tuesday morning after being struck by a school bus on the bypass road in Birgunj Metropolitan City-16.

According to Parsa police, the accident took place around 10:30 am when a NA 5 Kha 1504 school bus hit the cyclist near Nagwa.

Police spokesperson Kishor Lamsal confirmed that the victim, Taimuddin Miya, a resident of Pheta Rural Municipality-5 in Bara, died at the scene.

The bus and its driver have been detained by the police for further investigation.
