Police on Friday recovered the body of 35-year-old Jagarnath Sah from his house in Karkach Karmaiya of Dewahi Gonahi Municipality-6.

Sah was found lying on his bed with cut wounds on his body, said police.

According to District Police Chief Superintendent of Police Bir Bahadur Budhamagar, the crime occurred around midnight when Sah was asleep.

“Preliminary investigation reveals that he was murdered in his sleep,” Budhamagar said. “His wife has been taken into police custody for investigation.”

Police had reached the incident site at 2am on Friday after learning of the crime.

The body has been sent to the district hospital for postmortem.

Further investigation into the matter is underway.
