Police have seized 262 kg of marijuana hidden inside a truck with an Indian number on the Birgunj-Pathalaiya road section under Jitpursimara Sub-Metropolitan City on Friday.

According to DSP Purushottam Singh Pandey, spokesman of the District Police Office, the truck was parked on the road near a hotel, and the bust was conducted based on an anonymous tip.

The driver of the truck is absconding, so a search is underway to hunt down the driver and the owner of the contraband for necessary action, said Pandey.
