A man has been found drowned in a hydropower dam in ward 4 of Phidim Municipality of Panchthar district.

Krishna Tamang of Hilihang Rural Municipality, Panchthar, was found dead in the dam of the Panchthar Hydropower Company, police said.

The 49-year-old had left his home in ward 7 of Hilihang Rural Municipality on Sunday but did not return, prompting his family to search for him.

Police Inspector Rupesh Tamang of the District Police Office, Panchthar, said he was discovered submerged in the dam, and his family reported the incident to the police.

An investigation into the incident is underway, police said.
