The Nepali Communist Party (NCP) has decided to withdraw its support for the Nepali Congress-led government in Madhesh province, with its four ministers preparing to resign.
According to Benchi Lungeli, a provincial assembly member from the NCP, the party took the decision at a virtual meeting of its Madhesh provincial parliamentary party on Friday. The meeting also decided that its ministers would submit their resignations.
The NCP has four ministers in the provincial government.
The NCP's decision follows the CPN-UML's earlier withdrawal of support for the Congress-led government. With the NCP also set to leave the coalition, Chief Minister Krishna Prasad Yadav faces mounting pressure.
Yadav must secure a vote of confidence by November 14.
