Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota has announced that he will not contest the November polls amid a press conference held at Singha Durbar on Saturday.
CPN (Maoist Centre) had earlier recommended Sapkota’s candidacy from Sindhupalchok-1 for the upcoming federal elections.
He said he will be active in politics in the coming days but not contest the election this time. “I will not be in the fray in the November polls but will help the youths to come forward,” he said at the press conference.
Sapkota won the 2017 elections from Sindhupalchok 1. He was elected Constituent Assembly member in first and second CA elections from Sindhupalchowk-2.
