You may say I’m a dreamer
The term dream really surpasses its actual meaning today.

But here we stand still living in these materialistic dreams trying to find a way into reality. I truly do not want to sound so pessimistic here; but come on, what needs to be said must be said. We are now a federal democratic republic. And the one thing that actually works around here is protests. But here’s the funny part. I believe that the slogan of these protests should be “Let’s protest against the deteriorating economy of our country and it’s insecurities to bring about more economic damage and fear!” Yeah! Really funny, don’t you think? It brings a flashback of some words I read in the speech of Martin Luther King Jr in his revolutionary “I have a dream” speech of 1963. It goes something like this. “In the process of gaining our rightful place, we must not be guilty of wrongful deeds. Let us not seek to satisfy our thirst for freedom by drinking from the cup of bitterness and hatred. We must forever conduct our struggle on the high plane of dignity and discipline. Again and again we must rise to the majestic heights of meeting physical force with soul force.”
These words just make me go wow, and I believe that’s what every leader standing in the arena fighting for a nation should have in mind. In each of the protests we have, we all suffer. Our public properties worth millions are destroyed, many people’s lives are put at risk, and our daily activities are so much disrupted that all we can do is sit back and watch. But again, we as responsible citizens of this glorious country should also take the initiative to rise against such preposterous happenings and reject such unnecessary disturbances. Yes, we must support any movement that can bring about change in society as a whole, but where violence doesn’t exist. Both the parties, the supporters and the opposition, must come to a definite consensus with mature understanding. We people are our country’s strength, and we together can bring about all the development it needs. But we all need to dream big. It is because we need to work for it; but most of all, we need faith and hope. Jai Nepal!
