Rastriya Swatantra Party chair Rabi Lamichhane has urged the party’s lawmakers to maintain parliamentary decorum and conduct themselves with restraint in the House.
Lamichhane made the remarks at the RSP parliamentary party meeting on Wednesday.
He also advised lawmakers not to criticise opposition parties, saying they were simply carrying out their role as the opposition.
“Don’t criticise the opposition parties. They are doing their job as the opposition,” Lamichhane said.
Lamichhane said Prime Minister Balendra Shah would attend the next parliamentary party meeting. Shah is also the RSP’s parliamentary party leader.
“The prime minister will attend the next parliamentary party meeting. I have spoken to him about it. The next meeting will be held in the presence of the parliamentary party leader,” Lamichhane said. “Today’s meeting is an informal one with lawmakers and ministers.”
He also asked lawmakers to bring party-related concerns directly to him.
“Tell me about party matters. I will also handle them through the party secretariat,” he said.
The RSP parliamentary party meeting also delayed Wednesday’s House of Representatives session. The session, scheduled for 1pm, began shortly before the time of reporting.
