Detained from Budhanilkantha, Khadka is under investigation as authorities secure remand for further probe.Post Report
Former energy minister Deepak Khadka has been admitted to the Maharajgunj-based TU Teaching Hospital after being arrested in connection with a money laundering case.
He was admitted after developing health complications, officials said.
The Central Investigation Bureau arrested Khadka from Budhanilkantha on Sunday. Following his arrest, he was handed over to the Department of Money Laundering Investigation for further probe, said Additional Inspector General Manoj KC.
An official at the department said Khadka was taken to the hospital after a health check-up.
Department Director Jitendra Adhikari said a seven-day remand has been secured from the court, and further investigation is underway. “As we do not have detention facilities, we had handed him over to the police,” he said.
The department is continuing its investigation, with the CIB assisting in technical aspects.
