US Special Envoy for South and Central Asia Sergio Gor on Tuesday held a telephone conversation with Rastriya Swatantra Party chair Rabi Lamichhane and congratulated the party on its electoral performance.
The United States looks forward to working with Nepal’s new government to strengthen economic cooperation and further deepen ties between the two countries, the US Embassy in Kathmandu said in a post on X on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, Rastriya Swatantra Party leaders said the party, after securing a near two-thirds majority, is preparing to form a government on Friday under Balendra Shah’s leadership. The oath-taking ceremony of newly elected lawmakers will take place on Thursday.
