Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) candidate Biraj Bhakta Shrestha has been elected from Kathmandu Constituency No. 8, winning a second term in parliament.
Shrestha received 24,592 votes. His nearest competitor, CPN candidate Suman Sayami, secured 3,217 votes, while Nepali Congress candidate Sapana Rajbhandari came third with 2,835 votes.
CPN-UML candidate Rajesh Shakya trailed with 1,909 votes.
Shrestha had also won this constituency in the 2022 elections and previously served briefly as the Minister for Youth and Sports.
