Preparations are underway to begin vote counting in all 10 House of Representatives constituencies in Kathmandu on Thursday night, following the completion of polling.
Chief Election Officer Churaman Khadka said voting at all polling centres in the district concluded peacefully by 5pm.
He said a preliminary estimate suggests that around 60 to 65 percent of voters cast their ballots in Kathmandu.
Khadka said it would take some time to confirm the exact number of votes cast.
He said ballot boxes from all polling centres would be collected at the offices of the respective election officers within about two hours, after which the counting process would begin.
