Inspector General of Armed Police Force (APF) Raju Aryal has directed APF personnel to leave no security gaps in the upcoming House of Representatives election scheduled for March 5.
Addressing officers assigned command responsibilities at various APF offices from January 25, Aryal stressed the need for high professional performance and the swift implementation of election-focused security operations to ensure a peaceful and fear-free poll.
He warned that weak command and operational mistakes would invite immediate action, urging officers to work with high morale and strict discipline. He also instructed all deployed personnel to fully comply with the election code of conduct.
For the election, the APF is mobilising around 35,000 personnel for a 40-day period, including 15,110 election security officers under its command.
Aryal cautioned that any misconduct or wrongdoing by officers while on duty would result in prompt disciplinary action.
The APF chief also emphasised the need for greater vigilance in controlling revenue leakage, maintaining financial transparency, and enforcing zero tolerance towards corruption. He instructed border units to intensify patrols, surveillance, and operational activities to strengthen overall security during the election period.
