Bhandari and Khati win National Assembly seats from Sudurpaschim

CPN-UML candidate Leela Kumari Bhandari and Nepali Congress (NC) nominee Khamba Bahadur Khati have been elected to the National Assembly from Sudurpaschim Province.
According to the Provincial Election Office, Bhandari won the women’s category seat with a vote weightage of 3,984. NC candidate Khati secured victory in the other category with 3,969 vote weightage.
Bhandari defeated Nepali Communist Party (NCP) candidate Roji Basnet, who received 1,676 vote weightage. In the other category, Khati overcame NCP candidate Tikaram Jaisi, who secured 1,805 vote weightage.
The elections in Sudurpaschim were held under an electoral alliance between the UML and the Congress as part of the broader coalition formed for the National Assembly elections.
