Gold crosses Rs300,000 mark as price surges in domestic market
Fine gold jumped by Rs9,200 per tola on Friday to Rs301,400, while silver rose by Rs320, reversing losses from the previous trading day amid higher international prices.Post Report
Gold and silver prices surged in the domestic market on Friday, rising sharply from the previous trading day.
According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers Association, fine gold increased by Rs9,200 per tola (11.664 grams) to Rs301,400. Silver also rose by Rs320 per tola to Rs6,190.
Gold prices had fallen by Rs 2,900 per tola a day earlier. The gold was traded at Rs 292,200 per tola on Thursday.
On Wednesday, fine gold was traded at Rs295,100 per tola, while silver was priced at Rs5,920. Earlier in the week, gold had stood at Rs284,700 on Tuesday and Rs278,800 on Sunday. Silver was traded at Rs5,880 on Tuesday and Rs5,625 on Sunday.
In the international market, one ounce of gold was trading at USD 4,960, while silver was priced at USD 98, according to international media reports.
