INFFA to host Nepali film festival and awards in New Delhi
Event scheduled for February 1-3, with entries invited for films released in 2024 and 2025.Post Report
The International Nepali Film Festival and Awards (INFFA) has announced its first film festival and awards, scheduled to be held in New Delhi, India, from February 1 to 3, 2026, with the support of the Embassy of Nepal in New Delhi.
The organisers said the festival aims to promote Nepali films produced around the world among international audiences and to create a platform for collaboration and business expansion between India and Nepal.
Entries have been invited from Nepali feature films released in 2024 and 2025. The deadline for submission is January 7, 2026.
The event will include a red carpet award ceremony honouring achievements in categories such as best feature film, direction, artists and technical roles. It will also feature participation by national and international film personalities, critics, premiere shows, special screenings and cultural performances.
The jury comprises Krishna Malla, Sunil Thapa, Tulsi Ghimire, Bipana Thapa and Avtar Sahni. The programme will be attended by film personalities including Neer Bikram Shah, Pradeep Khadka, Najir Hussain and Keki Adhikari.
“INFFA-2026 will be an important opportunity for the Nepali film industry to expand its image at the international level,” INFFA chairman Rajendra Ghimire said.
Festival Director for Nepal Janak Deep Parajuli said the event would strengthen Indo-Nepal cultural relations and help popularise Nepali films among the diaspora and wider audiences.
