Ramechhap
A 65-year-old woman died in a suspected wild animal attack in Manthali Municipality-9 of Ramechhap on Saturday morning.
The body of Ganga Maya Tamang, who lived alone at home, was found torn and scattered near Pipaldanda on the border of wards 7 and 9 in Bangesalla, according to ward member Dhanlal Tamang.
Police said locals suspect that a tiger or leopard may have attacked her while she was either heading to or returning from a cowshed. Tamang had left home for the cowshed on Friday evening, and her body—found with a ruptured neck and severe lacerations—was discovered about 100 metres from the shed on Saturday morning.
A police team has been dispatched to the incident site, the Ramechhap District Police Office said.
