One person was killed and ten others were injured when a jeep met with an accident in Mahakali Municipality of Darchula on Sunday.

According to police, the jeep was travelling from Sakar towards Nisil when it veered off the road at Bajgadi in Ward No. 6.

A team led by Deputy Superintendent of Police Gaurav Mahat from the District Police Office has reached the incident site. “Rescue efforts are under way, and further details will be available soon,” police said in a brief statement.

The injured passengers have been taken to nearby health facilities for treatment. Police suspect the accident may have been caused by the slippery road conditions following recent rainfall.
