Two Nepalis detained at the Ukrainian border have been rescued and are returning to Nepal on Friday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
According to the ministry, Jaya Prakash Sah of Rautahat and Sandesh KC of Baglung were rescued through the coordination and efforts of the Nepali Embassy in Berlin. The Berlin-based Nepali embassy concurrently oversees Ukraine as well.
The ministry expressed gratitude to the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) Germany, and other supporting agencies and individuals for their assistance in the safe repatriation.
The ministry reminded travellers to strictly follow immigration and other laws of visiting countries. It warned that violations could result in detention, imprisonment, and even threats to life, adding that the rescue process for those arrested abroad is often complex.
It urged Nepalis to remain cautious against false promises and avoid involvement in unlawful activities.
