Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Minister Kulman Ghising on Tuesday directed the immediate closure of the minister’s office chamber located at the Nepal Electricity Authority’s (NEA) central office in Ratnapark.
Ghising instructed that the space be used strictly for the Authority’s official purposes rather than for ministerial activities.
The chamber had been established in December 2024 by former Energy Minister Deepak Khadka, reportedly to mount pressure on Ghising during his tenure as NEA executive director.
Officials said the move reflects Ghising’s commitment to keeping ministerial work separate from the Authority’s operational functions and ensuring that institutional space is used appropriately.
